THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS HEALTH SCIENCES LIBRARY CONSORTIUM was founded as a means to achieve the following goals for health-related institutions in the Laurel Highlands of Western Pennsylvania. 1. To develop a library network system that allows member institutions to supply quickly the health science information required by its users. 2. To improve access to library materials and services within the total library network system through local resource sharing. 3. To utilize the available financial resources more efficiently as a network than would otherwise be possible.
